Concrete Yard Extension and Retaining Wall in Bolton

This builders merchant in Bolton had run out of room. Their yard was under constant pressure from vehicle movements and stock, and they needed more usable space to store supplies and manage day to day operations. The solution was to extend a section of the existing yard into an adjacent car park area, bringing that ground into productive use for the business.

PKB Civils reinforced the existing retaining wall to support the extended footprint, then poured 400m² of new reinforced concrete across the yard extension. The slab was designed and specified for a high traffic environment, built for long term durability under the kind of loading a busy trade yard puts through the ground every day. Throughout the works, the yard stayed open and trading. We sequenced the programme carefully so deliveries, collections and customer access were kept clear at all stages.
