Yard Channel Drainage Installation in Haydock

PKB Civils were brought in to install channel drainage at a logistics site in Haydock to address a persistent standing water problem that was causing ongoing damage to the yard surface. Left untreated, standing water on a busy logistics yard accelerates concrete deterioration and creates safety risks for vehicles and personnel. The client needed a permanent drainage solution installed without disrupting the flow of daily operations.

Over a two-week programme, PKB installed 50 metres of new channel drainage across the site. The drainage was positioned to intercept and redirect surface water away from the yard, eliminating the standing water that had been saturating the concrete and contributing to its deterioration. The channel drainage installation was planned and sequenced carefully to keep the logistics site fully operational throughout, with vehicle movements and deliveries unaffected at all stages of the works.

The completed channel drainage installation resolved the standing water issue across the yard and removed the primary cause of ongoing concrete damage on site. The client now has a properly draining yard surface that protects the concrete long term and keeps the site safe and operational in all weather conditions.
