The problem
Liebherr's yard in Wigan needed worn concrete slabs replaced, its gullies and drainage repaired, and a bigger wash bay, without closing the yard to the plant and vehicles that use it every day.
What we did
- Jetting and CCTV survey of all the yard drainage before and after the works
- Existing slabs saw cut, broken out and removed from site, in three areas, one at a time
- New 250mm C40 slabs with mesh, dowelled into the existing concrete and brush finished
- Gullies repaired and moved, with new connections to the existing pipework
- Wash bay pit rebuilt at twice the size, 5m by 1.2m by 1m deep, with a heavy duty grated cover
The result
Liebherr now has new, brush-finished slabs across the repaired areas, drainage that has been cleared and checked on camera, and a wash pit with twice the capacity. The works moved through the yard one area at a time, so the rest of it stayed open throughout.
