Concrete Yard Resurfacing in London

PKB Civils completed a full builders merchant yard refurbishment across 1,000m² at a trade site in London. The yard had fallen into significant disrepair and the condition of the surface was slowing down day to day operations, making it difficult for plant to move around freely and creating safety risks for staff and customers storing and handling supplies.

To keep the merchant trading throughout, PKB phased the builders merchant yard refurbishment into sections, working through the site progressively so operations could continue in the completed areas while the next phase was underway. Across the full 1,000m² we removed the failed surface and installed new 200mm deep concrete slabs throughout, reinforced with mesh to ensure long term durability under the constant loading of plant, vehicles and heavy building materials. The depth and specification of the slab was chosen specifically to handle the demands of a working trade yard over the long term.

The completed yard refurbishment has given the client a significantly safer and more efficient site. Plant moves freely across the new surface, supplies can be stored and accessed properly, and the yard now operates as it should. The phased approach meant the merchant did not lose a day of trading throughout the full programme.
