Concrete Yard Extension in Bolton

Many industrial sites have unused land that never gets acted on. For this Bolton manufacturer, the concrete hardstanding construction behind their warehouse became an opportunity to expand their operation without moving premises. PKB Civils were brought in to turn that unused ground into a fully operational yard across an eight-week programme.

We cleared the site and laid approximately 1,250m² of concrete hardstanding, brush finished with bullnosed edges and built to handle the demands of a working manufacturing environment. The concrete hardstanding construction included new ACO drainage channels and a separator tank to ensure surface water leaves the site safely and in compliance with environmental requirements. A retaining wall was constructed to secure the boundary, and the space was completed with lighting towers and racking to make it fully operational from day one.

The result is a purpose-built yard that gave the client significant new operational capacity without the disruption or cost of relocating. The full scope was delivered by PKB Civils on a single programme, leaving the site ready to use the moment it was handed over.
