External Modular Groundworks in Manchester

PKB Civils were brought in to deliver all enabling groundworks and external civils ahead of a modular building installation at a school in Manchester. Before the building could be craned into position, the site needed to be fully prepared to receive it. That meant a comprehensive package of groundworks completed to a tight two-week programme.

PKB installed the foundation pads to receive the modular structure, carried out all drainage connections and electrical trenching across the site, and completed the concrete skirting works around the building perimeter. Access ramps were installed both before and after the crane lift to ensure the building was accessible and compliant from day one. All trenching and external civils were completed in sequence around the crane programme to ensure the installation could proceed without delay.

The enabling groundworks package was delivered on programme across the two weeks, leaving the site fully prepared for the modular building to be craned in and commissioned. PKB Civils handled the full scope of external civils from ground preparation through to finished access, giving the main programme a clean and ready site to work from.
