Yard Extension & New Retaining Wall in Rochdale

This builders merchant in Rochdale needed to make better use of their yard. The existing retaining wall was oversized for what the site required, and an old fence line with overgrown shrubbery was taking up space along the boundary that could be put to productive use.

PKB Civils removed the original retaining wall and replaced it with a new, smaller concrete retaining wall better suited to the site. We cleared the fence and vegetation along the boundary, then concreted the reclaimed area with a new slab. We also installed 200m² of new concrete across the yard, including a brushed finish slab and a concrete plinth to extend the client’s racking capacity. The merchant stayed open and trading throughout the full three weeks. We planned the programme around their operations so there was no disruption to deliveries or customer access.
