Yard Concrete Repairs and Drainage Upgrades in Glasgow

PKB Civils delivered a full port yard concrete repair and drainage upgrade programme across a large operational site in Glasgow. With 2,400m² of deteriorated concrete and failing drainage infrastructure to address, this was a significant refurbishment that needed careful planning to keep the port operating throughout a 12-week programme.

The works included concrete repairs across multiple areas of the yard, full drainage upgrades including gully and channel repairs and replacements, and the installation of 2,400m² of new concrete across the site. Every section of the port yard concrete repair works was sequenced and physically sectioned off by PKB to protect workers and keep active port operations well clear of the construction zones. This approach maintained health and safety standards across the site without disrupting vehicle movements, cargo handling or day to day port activity.

The completed port yard concrete repair and drainage upgrade significantly improved usable surface area across the site, reduced standing water and drainage failures, and delivered a measurable improvement to worker health and safety conditions across the yard.
