Yard Concrete Repairs in Sunderland

PKB Civils delivered port yard concrete repairs across an operational site in Sunderland, completing the full three-week programme with no downtime for the client. The yard surface had deteriorated across several areas and required a properly specified, reinforced solution to handle the demands of a working port environment over the long term.

The works covered concrete repairs throughout the yard, with up to 700m² of new concrete poured and reinforced with steel mesh. Visqueen membrane was installed as part of the slab build-up to provide additional protection and ensure the port yard concrete repairs perform reliably under the constant loading from heavy vehicles and port plant. The specification was selected specifically to suit the site conditions and give the client a durable, low-maintenance surface going forward.

Throughout the three-week programme, PKB managed all works around the live port operation with no interruption to vehicle movements or day to day site activity. The completed port yard concrete repairs delivered a significantly improved surface across the affected areas, properly reinforced and built to withstand the ongoing demands of a busy port yard.
